Pixel Canvas Is Turning One!

Yes its almost a year! Pixel Canvas officially opened its doors to the public on the 27th of September, 2008. Can you guess who the first person to start hanging around was? Ashley Kennedy!

I will never forget all the excitement surrounding the grand opening. Thousands visited and caused the site to crash on a number of occasions. After a few months of operating, Pixel Canvas was infected with a bug, which resulted in me shutting down the site for a few months, while a new site was being built.

The doors opened again in January 08, what a relief! Since then the members have been growing, and I am so grateful for the friends I have made along the way. Thanks so much to those that stuck around.

I am so excited to celebrate our first Birthday this Sunday. I have planned a lot!

I Started a Recipe Book

For the favorite meals I cook for my family. I thought I might as well take nice pictures and write the recipes down. I want to have something to give to my daughter when she is ready to cook, say.. in another 2 years or so? Hah! Plus its just another excuse to do something creative!

This is what I cooked tonight -

Baked Snapper with Mandarin Oranges, Cashews and Ginger

 

I found the recipe on allrecipes.com  Its a new one I tried tonight. Justin and I loved it! My fingers smell like mandarins now... mm-mm.

I went to a beach last Sunday and took lots of pics, and finished scrapping(designing) with them last night. Here's the album, you can view all the pages on facebook -

I was really surprised with how fast I completed these pages. I think one of the big reasons were because everything is so minimal, you end up choosing and playing with a limited amount of design elements. It is so easy to unify a page design by using the eye dropper tool and selecting colours from the image you are working with.

Noah is constantly surprising me and his dad with his personality and creations.  He is turning 5 next Saturday. I'm hoping for good weather so we enjoy a train ride with the glow worms!
